Taking a break

The importance of taking breaks.

Summer is almost over in the Northern Hemisphere and I hope you all got a chance to relax. In our societies where we tend to work and have side hustles instead of hobbies, it can seem as though taking a break is not possible. However there is tons of research showing it is vital for our mental health and well-being.

So then, why should you take a break?

Let’s start with the obvious: it is good for us.

-Being bored is good for the brain:

-Try to ask for more vacation days:

-Every 2 to 3 months, a long weekend:

-Having (actual) hobbies is essential:

Hustle culture is not great: we are not supposed to have hobbies anymore

Make Time for Yourself ♡

Many people see September as a great time of the year to start new habits.

Try to take a bit of time every day, even if it is 5 minutes, for yourself, to meditate, to be with yourself, to take a nice walk or do anything that makes you feel good.

As cliché as it sounds, it is true: you cannot help others if you do not help yourself first.

I hope you take time to find joy and relief.
